Lots to Do On Family Literacy Day In Grande Prairie

Friday, January 27, 2012 - 9:30 AM
By Ricardo Veneza
Grande Prairie

Family Literacy Day in Canada today and Grande Prairie isn't skipping out on the party.

There will be games, activities and events across the Swan City.

Sue Holler with the Grande Prairie Children's Literature Roundtable says this year's theme for the day is 'Passport to Learning.'

" 'Passport to Learning' is to recognise we use our literacy skills every single day. Whether we're texting or emailing; whether we're reading a book or a magazine. Maybe it's an instruction manual, maybe it's a recipe."

Holler adds she's also excited to see their 100,000 Nights of Reading come to an end.
