NewsCatholic School Board Considering Investment In Wind Power
As a member of a consortium that purchases power and gas at reduced rates, the Grande Prairie Catholic School Board has been asked to become a partner in that group's new wind power project. Superintendent Karl Germann says there would be advantages to purchasing shares in this initiative. "Our consortium is going to buy from them anyway, but we would also possibly receive a dividend if we were a partner in that project. So we are mulling over that idea to see if it is feasible. We said we would like to get more information to see if buying a small equity share in a wind power project is actually worthwhile." Each share in the project would cost 88 thousand dollars.
Germann says they have money that rolls in and out of term deposits that they could use, adding the dividends they get back would eventually pay for the initial investment. Similar StoriesMost Viewed Stories
