NewsCandidate For GP Smoky PC Nomination Sees Social Media As A way To Engage Youth
Saturday's vote looms as the tories in the local riding of GP Smoky get set to select their representative for an expected provincial election in the spring. Grande Prairie businessman Tab Pollack is one of those seeking the job. Pollack has made use of social media in his campaign, using platforms like Twitter and Facebook to engage younger voters. "I'm trying to get ahold of the youth and get them engaged. A lot of times we have ministers, for example, come up [to Grande Prairie] and we have a regional roundtable or we have stakeholders in the room, but we never have youth in the room. And that's a concern of mine. I think we need to get hte youth involved in what we're doing in Alberta." Pollack says some of the issues people are raising with him as he talks to voters in the riding are funding for education, health care, and property rights.
PC party members cast their ballots Saturday between 10 am and 6 pm at locations in Grande Prairie, Sexsmith, Valleyview, and Fox Creek. Similar StoriesMost Viewed Stories
