Finding an apartment to rent in Grande Prairie is tougher than last year.
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's stats show the vacancy rate in Grande Prairie registered the biggest drop in the province at 4.4-percent, leaving the vacancy rate here at 1.1-percent -- the lowest in the five major population centres in Alberta.
Rents are higher in the region as well -- an average increase of over 8-percent.
The report shows the average rent for a three bedroom home has increased $179 from April of last year.
