Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation stats show housing starts are ticking along at a good clip in Grande Prairie
construction on 45 single-detached homes started last month, compared to 30 back in May of 2011.
Stats show 22 multi-family starts last month as well.
CMHC analysts point to growing labour markets, rising incomes and higher levels of net migration as reasons for increases in multi-family starts.
Grande Prairie's housing construction activity has grown 54-percent in hte first five months of this year, when compared to the levels of activity seen over the same time in 2011.
