Ainsworth's Grande Prairie operation is celebrating a major safety milestone: It's been over a year since an injury's occured at the OSB plant.
Site Manager Randy Johnson says the company makes safety part of its corporate culture and that's the difference.
"Most times employees with equate doing a good job with trying to do what leadership and what the company focues on. So, if the leadership and the company doesn't focus on safety, then the employees will take chances."
The celebration was split into two part to make sure all employees could bring their families to a free barbeque.
One was held last week, and the other is today.
There are 173 employees at the OSB plant that runs 24-7.
