The feds are setting the stage for young women to lead and succeed.

They have put out a Call of Proposals for a new grant they are offering through Status of Women Canada that would allow for funding for a portion of an event geared towards encouraging young girls into leadership roles for this year's Canadian Women's History Month.

Jennifer Metituk is the President of the Grande Prairie Chapter of Executive Women International - she says girl especially often get lost in the cracks, and meeting new, successful women can help to counter-act that.

"There isn't one way to be successful and there isn't one path for everyone.  And if you talk to the most successful women out there, what they thought was going to happen in their life didnt.  So anything that can help them build their confidence through leadership is absolutely vital."

Women's History Month goes in October in Canada.

The theme for this year is "Strong Girls, Strong Canada: Leaders from the Start."
