Kids in the pediatrics department of the QE2 Hospital had a very special guest visit them today.

Montreal Alouettes linebacker Brian Ridgeway was on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with the patients.

Although he admits to still adjusting to life as a high profile figure from Grande Prairie, Ridgeway does enjoy giving back to the community.

"Football has been great for me, all the way from high school and even before that we got to go in grade 9.  I was always in trouble with school before I started playing football and that sort of changed around."

Ridgeway, who completed his rookie season with the Alouettes last year, heads back to Montreal later this week for training camp.
