The Horse Lake Chiefs bid to become Alberta Senior AAA hockey champions fell just short on Saturday night, as they dropped a 3-1 decision to Stony Plain in the seventh and final game of the provincial final.
Meanwhile, both the Grande Prairie A's and Falher Pirates also failed to come home from provincials with a championship.
The A's fell 10-3 to Carstairs in the Senior AA semi finals, while the Pirates lost 6-5 to Two Hills in the Senior A provincial semi finals.
