NewsAlberta Doctors Get New Deal
First it was general support services workers at hospitals... now the Redford government has worked out a new deal with doctors in the province. The two year deal is retroactive to April of last year and includes the option of a third year if a long term contract can not be reached by March 31st of 2013. Doctors will receive a 2.5 percent increase in fees in each year of the deal, as well as seeing Primary Care Network funding per patient jump up from 50 to 62 dollars. The new deal, which has to be ratified by both the government and the Alberta Medical Association, will cost the province 181 million dollars. Most Viewed Stories
