NewsAlberta Most Affordable Province For Homebuyers
According to a report from RBC Economics - Alberta has the most affordable housing in the country. GP Realtors Association President, Lesley Craig, isn't exactly surprised by the report. "The nice thing about our position here in Alberta is our recovery has been nice and steady, so prices of houses haven't really increased a huge amount just yet. We've got lots of activity going on, so lots of jobs lots of economic activity." The Housing Trends and Affordability Report shows the average two-storey house will cost the homeowner 36% of their pre-tax income in Alberta. After Alberta on the affordibility list: Manitoba and Atlantic Canada outlined in the report are at 37.9% of homeowners pre-tax income going towards the average two-storey house. The most expensive in the report is BC at 75.1%. For the rest: Ontario is at 48.8% of homeowners pre-tax income going towards the average two-storey house. Quebec is 43.1%. Saskatchewan is 42%.
