The Peace River School Division is being recognized with a provincial award.

The Provincial Public Engagement Award goes to the division for their work with the Conversations Toward Student Success Online program.

Superintendent Paul Bennet says the internet forum has allowed students, parents and staff to get a discussion going about how to make the school a better place for learning.

He's very proud of the results.

"Makes us feel really great It's been a tremendous opportunity for us to engage our public in the important topic of education."

Bennet says the online program isn't going anywhere and will be a part of how the school division plans from now on.
