STARS Grande Prairie is having a little party -- and you're invited.

The base is holding an open house next Thursday to celebrate a 5th year of operation here. STARS spokesman Cam Heke says they did a survey about four years ago to see just what kind of impact STARS has had in this province -- and results were pretty amazing.

"We learned that actually one in ten Albertans either knows somebody who was flown by STARS or was flown by STARS themselves. So that's a huge number of the population and it really speaks to the connectivity out in the community."

Heke says they're hoping some former patients who were helped by STARS will come to the open house on December 1st: He adds crews are always happy to re-connect with people they've helped.

There'll be demonstrations and tours and the event is open to everyone. Everything gets underway at one o'clock at the base by the Grande Prairie Airport.
