Grande Prairie Regional College president Don Gnatiuk hopes loyal donors come out this winter.

"We have some very loyal contributors to our college, who every year, they come to our college and they help us out."

Gnatiuk says the college is working to launch a multi-year and projected multi-million-dollar fundraising campaign in either January or February 2012.

Gnatiuk says the GPRC campaign will be along the lines of the record breaking $2 billion fundraising effort launched by the University of Toronto.

"It is going to parallel exactly what the UofT is doing. Obviously not the same kind of numbers, but it's a larger capital campaign for the college, into 2020."

Gnatiuk adds this new, yet-to-be-named-campaign won't replace annual college fundraising, which generally brings in a million dollars.
