Local residents will see lots of activity around the Grande Prairie Airport --and along Range Road 71-- over the next few hours as the members of the Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership run through a "mock disaster" to test the response plan that's been mapped out over dozens of meetings.
G-PREP Co-ordinator Jennifer Wood says testing and refining the plan is all part of it.
A simulated plane crash, with casualties, is set up near the airport.
On Range Road 71, the exercise calls for emergency responders to deal with a gas line rupture caused by debris falling from the "plane crash".
The excercise should wrap up after one o'clock.
