With the first mixed martial arts events to be held in Grande Prairie just two and a half months away, members of the local combative sports commission are busy job shadowing as many events as they can between now and then, in order to get a better idea of the broad scope of plans and volunteers they will need to have in place.

Chairman Dan Wong and two other commission members job shadow Edmonton mission members at a King of the Cage event last weekend at Rexall Place.

One thing that caught Wong's eye was the size of the technical zone.
 

Wong says the Edmonton event saw one competitor have to be taken away on a stretcher after suffering a groin injury.

The King of the Cage, along with Savvy Productions, are set to put on a card February 12th at the Crystal Centre.
