MP's are now on their summer break from Parliament Hill as the spring sitting wrapped up earlier today.

Peace River Conservative M-P Chris Warkentin says it was a busy and productive session for his government.

Among the highlights for him was getting rid of the long gun registry, as well as a number of other reforms.

"Whether it be criminal justice reforms, or the immigration system that we are working to overhaul to ensure that foreign criminals can not come into Canada and stay in Canada.  And of course, most recently with the budget implementation bill finally passed. "

The past few months were also busy for Warkentin, including his work as chair of the Standing Committee of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, as well as being a commissioner on the Red Tape Reduction Commission.
