Children are encouraged to use their imaginations to develop their storytelling talents with puppet plays, songs, musical instruments, dance, and stories. Drop-in program. Audience: 4 and 5 year olds. Maximum: 15 imaginers

Preschoolers can have fun while developing six pre-reading skills: I like books; I see letters; I hear words; I know words; I see words; I can tell a story!  This is a 6 week developmental program, where each class builds upon the last.  Please register and plan to attend every class. Registration required. Audience: 4 and 5 year olds. Maximum: 15 future readers

PAWS for a Story

Corky loves stories!  Children ages 5 to 8 are invited to read a story to this gentle Golden Retriever.  Reading to a therapy dog can enhance literacy skills and encourage a love of reading.  Each child will have a 15 minute one-on-one session with Corky and her handler, Kianna. Registration required. Audience: 5 to 8 year old children. Maximum: 4 dog-lovers

Family Literacy Day

Take a learning journey with your family on Family Literacy Day!  Learning happens everywhere and it’s great fun for families to learn together!  We will have family programs at the Library all day long.  Pick up a Learning Passport and take part in the great events around Grande Prairie.
